Suspect sought in hookah lounge stabbing death

Las Vegas police were searching Sunday for a 36-year-old man in connection with the stabbing death of another man at a hookah lounge in the west valley Saturday.

The deceased man was not identified.

Police said they responded to a hookah lounge in the 6800 block of West Spring Mountain Road, near Rainbow Boulevard, about 3:58 a.m. Saturday. Once inside, they found a man with stab wounds. He died later at University Medical Center.

Police said they suspect Eddy Rodriguez of entering the lounge and stabbing the man multiple times. The victim was dancing with his ex-girlfriend, they said.

Rodriguez then fled the scene.

He is described as a Hispanic man, 5 feet 11 inches tall and 200 pounds.

Police said Rodriguez might still be in Las Vegas.

Anyone with information regarding this slaying is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555 or the Metropolitan Police Department Homicide Section at 828-3521.
