Two men face murder charges in downtown homicide

Two men have been arrested in connection with the April 29 slaying of Richard Blevins.

Troy Waggoner, 32, and Segundo Alonso Gonzalez, 21, were arrested Saturday and face murder charges, Las Vegas police records indicate.

According to police, Blevins apparently owed Gonzalez $50, and Gonzalez was determined to collect on it.

Shortly before 1 p.m., Gonzalez, along with two unidentified males, confronted Blevins at his apartment in the 1000 block of Third Street, near Main Street and Charleston Boulevard.

After words were exchanged, one of three men shot Blevins approximately four times. The three men then fled and left in Waggoner’s vehicle, police reports said.

Officers were called to the residence shortly after neighbors heard the shots, where they discovered Blevins suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Blevins died at University Medical Center roughly two hours later.
