U.S. Postal Service worker sought in Netflix DVD thefts

A federal indictment claims a man stole hundreds of DVDs from Netflix packages while working as a U.S. Postal Service employee in 2009 and 2010.

William King faces one count of theft of mail matter by an employee.

A federal grand jury in Las Vegas returned the indictment Wednesday. It claims King removed the DVDs from 562 Netflix packages between about January 2009 and May 2010.

According to the indictment, the Netflix packages were addressed to customers in the 89120 and 89121 zip codes in the Las Vegas area.

Netflix is an Internet subscription service that allows members to rent DVDs through the mail.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Lawrence Leavitt issued a warrant Wednesday for King's arrest.
