Woman imprisoned in death of boyfriend after argument

RENO - A 52-year-old Northern Nevada woman has been sentenced to four to 10 years in prison for fatally shooting her boyfriend hours after the couple celebrated her birthday.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports Cynthia Ann Bucher of Sun Valley was sentenced Thursday in the death of 46-year-old Danny Ray Grossen.

She had pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the case.

The couple had gone out to a birthday dinner earlier on May 16, 2009. Bucher said Grossen wanted help committing suicide, but prosecutors said the shooting happened after the couple had a drunken argument.
