GANG PREVENTION TRAINING

Drug Abuse Resistance Education officers and the Southern Nevada Community Gang Task Force Gang Prevention Subcommittee will offer training regarding their "Parents Handbook on Gangs" as follows: 4-6 p.m. Tuesday at Vegas Verdes Elementary School, 4000 El Parque Ave.; and 8-10 a.m. and 3-5 p.m. Feb. 7 at Wendell Williams Elementary School, 1030 J St. (828-3394).

LIONS CLUB

SONS OF CONFEDERATE VETERANS

The Sons of Confederate Veterans, for descendants of veterans who fought for the Confederacy during the Civil War, will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Las Vegas Library, 833 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Meetings are free and open to the public (858-9963).

NEIGHBORHOOD PRESERVATION

Charleston Neighborhood Preservation will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at West Charleston Library, 6301 W. Charleston Blvd. The program will focus on Community Emergency Response Team information (877-2438).

BACKGAMMON CLUB
