AARP MEETING

The American Association of Retired Persons, Chapter 1189, will meet at 11 a.m. Friday in the clubhouse at Royal Oaks Mobile Home Park, 5300 E. Desert Inn Road (641-2191).

GARAGE SALE

St. Gabriel the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Church will have a garage sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at 2250 Maule St.

OKTOBERFEST

Guardian Angel Cathedral will host its third annual Oktoberfest from 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday in Anderson Hall, 336 Cathedral Way. The event will include a raffle of an original painting of the Cathedral.

JAPANESE FLOWER ARRANGING

The Nevada Chapter of the Ikenobo Ikebana Society will offer Japanese flower arranging workshops from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Whitney Library, 5175 E. Tropicana Ave. Fresh flowers are used (454-7744).

CHILD SAFETY DAY

KlaasKids Foundation will host Print-A-Thons to educate families about child safety and to fingerprint and photograph children at no cost.
