LECTURE

Professor Karl A. Taube of the University of California, Riverside will present "The Murals of San Bartolo, Guatemala: Early Maya Creation Myth and the Origins of Gods and Kings." The free lecture, sponsored by the University of Nevada, Las Vegas College of Liberal Arts and the Dean's Associates, will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Barrick Museum Auditorium on campus, 4505 S. LAS VEGAS SCREENWRITERS

The Las Vegas Screenwriters will host David Trottier, author of the "Screenwriter's Bible," at 6:30 p.m. Friday. He will speak about ways to make a living as a writer and how to break into Hollywood from Las Vegas. Reservations are needed (629-5067).

HEALTH FAIR

A community health fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension, 8050 S. Maryland Parkway. The free event is sponsored by the Nevada Center for Ethics and will focus on such topics as senior issues, kids' projects, medical screenings and organ donation (257-5537).

GARDEN CLASS

Gardening Tips is the title of a class scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Las Vegas Springs Preserve, 333 S. Valley View Blvd. (822-7786).

PINOCHLE CLUB

The Las Vegas Pinochle Club meets at 5 p.m. Saturdays at Boulder Cascade Clubhouse. The group is open to new members (338-5770).

WOMEN'S GROUP

VETERANS GROUPS
