TOASTMASTERS

AUTO CLUB

The Miata Owners of Vegas will have its monthly social hour and meeting at 6 p.m. Monday at the Blue Ox Tavern, 5875 W. Sahara Ave. (419-2438).

WOMEN'S CLUB

The Valley Women's Club offers a luncheon the second Monday of the month and a bimonthly business meeting at Green Valley Library, 2797 Green Valley Parkway, Henderson (837-2541).

 

PINOCHLE CLUB

The nonsmoking Double Deck Pinochle Club meets at 6:30 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays (274-6387).

 

SINGLES TRAVEL CLUB

The Las Vegas Singles Travel and Social Club, for people 55 and older interested in local and world travel, meets at 6:30 p.m. the second and fourth Monday of each month at the Tap House, 5589 W. Charleston Blvd. (888-324-2028).

 

PROGRESSIVE SOCIAL GROUP

The SW Las Vegas Chapter of Drinking Liberally, an informal, left-leaning progressive social group that talks politics, meets at 7 p.m. Mondays at Torino's Sports Pub & Restaurant, 5570 W. Flamingo Road (460-0973).

 

RPEN MEETING

The Retired Public Employees of Nevada, Las Vegas Chapter will meet at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the American Legion, 733 Veterans Memorial Drive. The speaker will be Executive Director Marty Bibb. The meeting is open to the public (256-9764).

 

FUNDRAISERS

The third annual Celebrity Poker Tournament to benefit Opportunity Village will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday at Caesars Palace, 3570 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Check-in will begin at 11:30 a.m. The No-Limit Texas Hold 'em Tournament is open to the public to play or to watch. There also will be a VIP reception. (880-4038).

The first Lions HealthFirst Foundation "Gift of Life" Golf Tournament will be Saturday at Badlands Golf Club, 9119 Alta Drive. Proceeds will go to the foundation to help underwrite free and low-cost ultrasound screenings for Las Vegas seniors at risk for life-threatening illnesses (739-6393).
