COMMEMORATION CEREMONY
A ceremony to commemorate the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. will be at noon Monday in the Student Union Ballroom at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway. Author, professor and social critic the Rev. Michael Eric Dyson will be the featured speaker. The event is free and open to the public and will include remarks by UNLV President David B. MRS. NEVADA PAGEANT
The 2008 Mrs. Nevada United States Pageant is scheduled for March 29 at the Nicholas Horn Theatre on the College of Southern Nevada campus in North Las Vegas. Married women at least 21 years of age who are family oriented are eligible to participate (262-818-5674).
JEWISH COMMUNITY CENTER
The Jewish Community Center of Southern Nevada offers singles programs for adults of all ages. Jewish singles meet for bagels and coffee at noon the first Sunday of the month at Temple Beth Sholom, 10700 Havenwood Lane, and the fourth Wednesday of each month at Rave Motion Pictures, 6587 Las Vegas Blvd., South; Jewish singles in their 20s and 30s meet at 6:30 p.m. the first Monday of each month at the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Co., 2220 Village Walk Drive in Henderson; Jewish singles age 60 and older meet for dinner at various locations the third Wednesday of the month in Henderson and the last Thursday of the month in Summerlin.
