Author Mitch Alborn featured at signing
The public is invited to spend "One Morning With... Mitch Albom" for conversation, discussion, a continental breakfast and book-signing.
Sponsored by the Jewish Community Center of Southern Nevada Cultural Arts Committee, the event will be 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 14 at Canyon Gate Country Club, 2001 Canyon Gate Drive.
The author of "Tuesdays With Morrie" and "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" will talk about these books as well as "For One More Day," his latest book. Borders Books Music Movies & Cafe will have a display of the book with a percentage of sales donated to the Jewish Community Center.
"For One More Day" is the story of a mother and son, and a relationship that covers a lifetime and beyond. Albom explores the question: What would you do if you could spend one more day with a lost loved one?
The book is being made into a movie that is scheduled to air as an Oprah Winfrey Presents film on ABC in December.
The "One Morning With... Mitch Albom" program costs $18 for Jewish Community Center members and $25 for nonmembers.
Proceeds benefit the nonprofit organization's cultural, educational, social and athletic programs. Reservations are required. Call 794-0090 for reservations.
