Biker Benefit

Listen up, all you guys who ride bikes. My lead item this week will have you frothing at the mouth. I'm talking about the "Save the Boobs Poker Run" to raise money for the American Cancer Society. It all begins and ends at the Hogs & Heifers Saloon downtown on Sunday, March 9. You'll be going to Mountain Springs Saloon, then heading to the PT's Sports Bar at Silverado Ranch Boulevard and Maryland Parkway, onto the Harley Davidson store on Eastern Avenue, then to Scores Las Vegas on Procyon Street and back to Hogs & Heifers Saloon, playing poker along the way.

Prizes will be given for the day's best and worst hands. Players who don't like their hands are encouraged to restart the ride from any location for a $10 re-entry fee. From 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., riders can check in for only a $30 entry fee and $10 for passengers. After registering and having breakfast, you'll head out at 11 a.m. for a day of fun, with all proceeds raised during the day-long event benefiting the American Cancer Society. Last year's run saw more than 500 participants. At the end of the run, it's party at Hogs & Heifers with a barbecue and a performance by Southern Stue. Sounds like a great way to spend a day and the weather should be perfect for a ride.

BARE IT ALL

For you guys and gals who don't like wearing much, Bare pool adult lounge at The Mirage opens for the season Thursday, March 13. You can enjoy European-style sun bathing in its two luxury pools while a DJ spins the latest in party music. You don't have to worry about anyone looking in as you'll be secluded by towering palms.

ROSEANNE READY TO PARTY

Fans of Roseanne Barr will be happy to learn that she has just started a gig at the Sahara where she performs in the Sahara's Congo Room Saturday thru Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. The outspoken Barr says she's "Fresh out of rehab and ready to PARTY!" Ticket prices begin at $59.50 (inclusive of all taxes and fees). She replaces The Amazing Johnathan, who is performing at the Harmon Theatre/Krave nightclub at Planet Hollywood.

NEON MUSEUM GETS NEW SIGN

The Nevada Palace sign was taken down and donated to the Neon Museum this week. The sign joins many other famous marquees that have made the Neon Museum their final resting place. The new Eastside Cannery Casino & Hotel will replace the hotel-casino.

If you want a taste of "Old Las Vegas" I suggest you visit the Neon Museum and take your camera. The museum's collection ranges from the 1940s to present day and features a lot of very cool signs. It's located at the east end of the Fremont Experience, at Fremont Street and Las Vegas Boulevard North.

CAN'T-MISS BETTE

Went to see Bette Midler the other night and all I can say is "Wow!" She puts on one helluva show and one you don't want to miss. Whether she'll be able to draw audiences like Celine Dion did remains to be seen, but it certainly won't be for lack of putting on one the most entertaining shows in our town. Caesars Palace has certainly delivered a knockout punch by signing Midler, Cher and Elton John to grace the Colosseum stage.

Good luck and I'll see you on the Strip. And don't forget to check out www.valleyblogs.com. If you have a question or a Las Vegas experience you would like to share with my readers, please e-mail me at lennylasvegas@gmail.com Please include your full name and the city or town where you live.
