Here is a listing of events designed for book lovers. Information is subject to change or cancellation without notice. SIGNINGS

50 Cent will sign copies of "Formula 50: A 6-Week Workout and Nutrition Plan That Will Transform Your Life" at 7 p.m. Monday at Barnes & Noble, 2191 N. Rainbow Blvd. Attendees must purchase a copy of the book and present the receipt in order to receive a wristband for the signing line (631-1775).

Janie Hendrix will sign "Jimi Hendrix: The Ultimate Lyric Book" at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Barnes & Noble, 2191 N. Rainbow Blvd.

Unique Everlasting will sign and discuss "Shattered Fortune" at 2 p.m. Friday at West Las Vegas Arts Center, 947 W. Lake Mead Blvd. The event is free, but tickets are required and may be picked up in advance at the center (229-4800).

EVENTS

"When The Mob Ran Vegas," a panel discussion, featuring columnist and former Las Vegas City Councilman Steve Miller, journalist and author Cathy Scott and author Wendy Mazaros discussing life in Las Vegas during the Mob's heyday, will be presented at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road. Seating is first come, first served. Entry wristbands will be issued beginning at 6 p.m. from the theater box office. The event is free (507-3458).

Join Dr. Cheryl Lentz and other authors from "The Refractive Thinkers" series for a summit and book signing at 1 p.m. Saturday at Barnes & Noble, 2191 N. Rainbow Blvd.

Max Grinnell, urbanologist, traveler, explorer and writer for "The Rough Guide" and "Frommer's" travel guides, will host lectures on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Windmill Library, 7060 W. Windmill Lane, and 2 p.m. at West Charleston Library, 6301 W. Charleston Blvd. And, on Jan. 13 at 11 a.m. at Summerlin Library, and 2 p.m. at Rainbow Library (507-3710).

Book Lovers' Bistro meets at 5:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at Whitney Library, 5175 E. Tropicana Ave.

The Brown Bag Book Club meets at 11 a.m. the second Thursday of the month at the Laughlin Library, 2840 S. Needles Highway.

T he Murder in the Library group meets at 5:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at Sahara West Library, 9600 W. Sahara Ave.

The Windmill Book Group meets at 4 p.m. the second Sunday of the month at 7060 W. Windmill Lane.

The Mystery Readers Book Club meets at 6:15 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month at Paseo Verde Library, 280 S. Green Valley Parkway, Henderson.

The Mesquite Club Book Club meets at 1 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month at the Mesquite Club House, 702 E. St. Louis Ave., in Las Vegas.
