SIGNINGS

Ron Mackey will sign "Parenting: The Bottom Line" at 1 p.m. today at Barnes & Noble, 2191 N. Rainbow Blvd.

Cynthia Evans will sign "Voices of Cyn ... Traces of a Backslider" at 2:30 p.m. March 4 at Barnes & Noble, 2191 N. Rainbow Blvd.

EVENTS

Barnes & Noble, 3860 S. Maryland Parkway, will host a book fair to benefit Spread the Word Nevada 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. A Dr. Seuss birthday party with story time, crafts, cake and refreshments will start at 4 p.m. Friday. A Dr. Seuss story time and craft activity also will be offered on Saturday. Shoppers who mention "Spread the Word Nevada" will be donating a portion of their purchase total to the organization (734-2900).

"An Evening with Tim Dorsey: Umbrella Drinks, Dictators & a Hilarious New Novel" will be presented at 7 p.m. March 5 in the Jewel Box Theater at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road. Dorsey will discuss his new book "Pineapple Grenade."

The Amazing Reads Book Club meets at 5:30 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month at West Charleston Library, 6301 W. Charleston Blvd.

The Mahogany Circle Book Club meets at 11 a.m. the first Saturday of the month at the Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

The Henderson Writers Group meets at 6 p.m. the second and fourth Mondays of the month at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in the Running Rebel Plaza, 4550 S. Maryland Parkway; and the first, third and fifth Mondays of the month at Saxby's Coffee Lounge, 72 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway, Henderson.

STORY TIMES

Story time with music and crafts is offered Tuesdays at 11 a.m. at Barnes & Noble, 567 N. Stephanie St., Henderson.

Story time in the Square is offered at 11 a.m. Wednesdays in Children's Park at Town Square Las Vegas, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South.
