EVENTS

A book discussion with "Ultramarathon Man" author Dean Karnazes will be offered at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Gibson Library, 280 S. Water St., Henderson, and at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Paseo Verde Library, 280 S. Green Valley Parkway, Henderson.

Authors Jo Wilkins, Maureen Woods, Marshal Taylor, Tom Woods, Leon Rose and Barbara Botch will discuss self-publishing and tips for writers at a workshop at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

"A Reading with Cristina Garcia" will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 6 in the UNLV Student Union Theatre, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway. Garcia, a Black Mountain Institute teaching fellow in the UNLV English Department, is the author of "Dreaming in Cuban," "Monkey Hunting" and "A Handbook to Luck."

Donnie Brown, Style Network star and celebrity wedding planner, will sign copies of his book, "Donnie Brown Weddings: From Couture to the Cake," from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday in the Palm Room at the Four Seasons, 3960 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

The Mahogany Circle Book Club meets at 11 a.m. the first Saturday of the month and the SNAFFU Science Fiction Book Club meets at 2 p.m. the fourth Sunday of the month at the Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.

The Spring Valley Book Discussion Group meets at 7 p.m. the first Thursday of each month at Spring Valley Library, 4280 S. Jones Blvd.

The Forbidden Book Club meets at 7 p.m. the first Thursday of the month at Enterprise Library, 25 E. Shelbourne Ave.

The Not-So-Grown-Up Book Club meets at 7:15 p.m. the first Thursday of the month at James I. Gibson Library, 280 S. Water St., Henderson.
