SIGNINGS

EVENTS

The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District Foundation will have a Spring Book Sale 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the Sahara West Library's used book store, 9600 W. Sahara Ave. A selection of children's books, fiction and nonfiction books, CDs and DVDs will be available starting at 25 cents, and paperbacks will be sold for 10 cents. Author and archaeologist Michael A. Cremo will present a lecture on his book "The Forbidden Archeologist" at 3 p.m. Saturday at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road. Books will be available for purchase and signing during the event. Admission is $15, and includes refreshments. For more information, call 434-8332.

The Gateway Arts Foundation will present "The Poetic Voice Within" series with poet and author Ed Bennett at 7 p.m. Thursdays in May at Hattie's House, 9109 Lazy Hill Circle. Book Lovers' Bistro meets at 5:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at Whitney Library, 5175 E. Tropicana Ave.

The Brown Bag Book Club meets at 11 a.m. the second Thursday of the month at the Laughlin Library, 2840 S. Needles Highway.

Sisters in Crime of Southern Nevada meets at 3 p.m. the second Sunday of the month at Barnes & Noble, 3860 S. Maryland Parkway.

The Mesquite Club Book Club meets at 1 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month at the Mesquite Club House, 702 E. St. Louis Ave., in Las Vegas.

Borders bookstore, 2190 N. Rainbow Blvd., has a writers' group at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays.

The Henderson Writers Group meets at 6:30 p.m. the second and fourth Mondays of the month at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in the Running Rebel Plaza, 4550 S. Maryland Parkway; and the first, third and fifth Mondays of the month at Saxby's Coffee Lounge, 72 Horizon Ridge Parkway, Henderson.

The monthly Poet's Corner is at 7:30 p.m. the third Friday of the month at the West Las Vegas Arts Center, 947 W. Lake Mead Blvd.

STORY TIMES

Story time with music and crafts is offered Tuesdays at 11 a.m. at Barnes & Noble, 567 N. Stephanie St., Henderson.

Story time in the Square is offered at 11 a.m. Wednesdays in Children's Park at Town Square Las Vegas, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Individual libraries within the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District offer a variety of story times and special events for children of all ages throughout the year. Most libraries require registration for their programs. Call the libraries for details.
