SIGNINGS

David Archuleta will perform a song and sign copies of "Chords of Strength" at noon Wednesday at Deseret Book, 2651 Paseo Verde Parkway, Henderson.

Lisa Lillien will sign "Hungry Girl Happy Hour" 7-9 p.m. Friday poolside at Planet Hollywood Resort, 3667 Las Vegas Blvd. South. The event will feature free snacks, prizes and "Hungry Girl" cocktails.

Dennis Goode will sign and discuss "Time Squares" 10 a.m.-noon Saturday at Borders, 1445 W. Sunset Road, Henderson.

Maryann B. Lawrence will sign and discuss "A Mother's Story: Memories from the Turtle Creek Valley" noon-2 p.m. Saturday at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at The District, 2220 Village Walk Drive, Henderson.

Toshia Shaw will sign and discuss "High Stakes" at 1 p.m. Saturday at Barnes & Noble, 3860 S. Maryland Parkway.

Uma Aggarwal will sign copies of "The Exquisite World of Indian Cuisine" at noon Saturday at Borders, 2190 N. Rainbow Blvd.

EVENTS

James I. Gibson Library, 100 W. Lake Mead Parkway, Henderson, will have its grand opening at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. The new location features a drive-through window for requested material, a computer lab for as many as 25 users, a teen area and larger rooms for library programming.

The Brown Bag Book Club meets at 11 a.m. the second Thursday of the month at the Laughlin Library, 2840 S. Needles Highway.

Centennial Hills Readers Circle meets at 10:30 a.m. the first Tuesday of each month at Centennial Hills Library, 6711 N. Buffalo Drive.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

Borders bookstore, 2190 N. Rainbow Blvd., has a writers' group at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays.

The Henderson Writers Group meets at 6:30 p.m. the second and fourth Mondays of the month at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.

The monthly Poet's Corner is at 7:30 p.m. the third Friday of the month at the West Las Vegas Arts Center, 947 W. Lake Mead Blvd.

STORY TIMES

Story time with music and crafts is offered Tuesdays at 11 a.m. at Barnes & Noble, 567 N. Stephanie St., Henderson.

Story time in the Square is offered at 11 a.m. Wednesdays in Children's Park at Town Square Las Vegas, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Individual libraries within the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District offer a variety of story times and special events for children of all ages throughout the year. Most libraries require registration for their programs. Call the libraries for details.
