SIGNINGS

Frank Meeink will sign and discuss "Autobiography of a Recovering Skinhead: the Frank Meeink Story as Told to Jody M. Roy, Ph.D." at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Barnes & Noble, 567 N. Stephanie St., Henderson.

Elle Swan will sign and discuss "Your Mind Over Habits" at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Barnes & Noble, 8915 W. Charleston Blvd.

EVENTS

"An Afternoon with Anya Kamenetz: Edupunks, Edupreneurs & DIY U" will be presented at 2 p.m. today in the Jewel Box Theater at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road. Kamenetz will discuss her book "DIY U: Edupunks, Edupreneurs and the Coming Transformation of Higher Education." A book signing and reception will follow the talk.

"Save Gas This Summer -- Be A Weekend Traveler," a discussion on road trip getaways with Las Vegas writers Megan Edwards, A.D. Hopkins, Mark Sedenquist, Deborah Wall and Branch Whitney, will be presented at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.

Gregory Chester, author of "Parents Are Being Played Like A Video Game," will offer a five-week discussion on "Child Character Trait Awareness and the Lack of Respect" at 7 p.m. beginning Tuesday at the Whitney Ranch Recreation Center, 1575 Galleria Drive, Henderson. The Amazing Reads Book Club meets at 7 p.m. the fourth Wednesday of each month at West Charleston Library, 6301 W. Charleston Blvd.

The Cover 2 Cover Book Club meets at 7 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month at Rainbow Library, 3150 N. Buffalo Drive.

The Sahara West Book Discussion Group meets at 7 p.m. the last Thursday of each month at Sahara West Library, 9600 W. Sahara Ave.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

Borders bookstore, 2190 N. Rainbow Blvd., has a writers' group at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays.

The Henderson Writers Group meets at 6:30 p.m. the second and fourth Mondays of the month at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.

STORY TIMES

Story time with music and crafts is offered Tuesdays at 11 a.m. at Barnes & Noble, 567 N. Stephanie St., Henderson.

Story time in the Square is offered at 11 a.m. Wednesdays in Children's Park at Town Square Las Vegas, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Individual libraries within the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District offer a variety of story times and special events for children of all ages throughout the year. Most libraries require registration for their programs. Call the libraries for details.
