SIGNINGS

Douglas Preston will sign and discuss "Impact" at 3 p.m. today at Borders, 6521 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

A book signing for Danny Gans' book "The Voices in My Head: A Story of Triumph Over Tragedy and Beating the Odds in Las Vegas" will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday in Addison's Lounge at Rampart Casino, 221 N. Rampart Blvd., featuring Gans' longtime manager Chip Lightman and book collaborator R.G. Ryan.

Constance Ford will sign and discuss "Restless City" at noon Saturday at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, 3645 S. Town Center Drive.

EVENTS

Author Garrison Keillor will give a presentation, as part of UNLV's Barrick Lecture Series, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Artemus Ham Hall on campus, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway. Admission is free, but tickets are required (895-2787).

The Black Mountain Institute at UNLV will present "A Reading with Luljeta Lleshanaku" at 7 p.m. Thursday at Marjorie Barrick Museum Auditorium, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway. The Albanian poet will read from her new collection "Child of Nature."

Author Gregory Chester will instruct a free parenting awareness class based on his book "Parents Are Being Played Like A Video Game!" at 10 a.m. Saturdays Jan. 23-March 13 at Whitney Ranch Recreation Center, 1575 Galleria Drive (267-5850).

The Amazing Reads Book Club meets at 7 p.m. the fourth Wednesday of each month at West Charleston Library, 6301 W. Charleston Blvd.

The Contemporary Fiction Book Club meets at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month at the Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.

The Cover 2 Cover Book Club meets at 7 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month at Rainbow Library, 3150 N. Buffalo Drive.

The Desert Hearts romance readers book club meets at 6:30 p.m. the third Thursday of each month at Sahara West Library, 9600 W. Sahara Ave.

The Fantastic Classics Book Club meets at 7:15 p.m. the third Wednesday of the month at Green Valley Library, 2797 N. Green Valley Parkway, Henderson.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

Borders bookstore, 2190 N. Rainbow Blvd., has a writers' group at 6:30 p.m. the first and third Tuesdays of the month.

STORY TIMES

Story time with music and crafts is offered Tuesdays at 11 a.m. and the second Saturday of the month at Barnes & Noble, 567 N. Stephanie St., Henderson.
