Clark County Museum plans spooky events
"Ghosts and Goblins of Nevada's Past" will haunt the Clark County Museum, 1830 S. Boulder Highway in Henderson.
The event, which takes place Oct. 27 and 28, will feature more attractions, games and places to trick or treat than in the past.
Admission is $2 per person, with small charges for games and attractions. Gates open from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., with activities ending soon after 8 p.m.
The Halloween event, which is geared toward children younger than 12, is in its sixth year. The popular trick-or-treating venue features 10 historic buildings on Heritage Square where costumed children with admission tickets can get goodies.
The attractions this year include a new place for chills and thrills -- the Haunted Depot, designed and presented by the Rainbow Company Children's Theatre. Costumed theater members will interact with the audience at unexpected moments, giving the attraction an extra fright value.
The Spook Alley attraction has been updated and shows participants what kinds of gruesome things ghosts like to eat.
Ghost Town Tours will have an extra dimension with the addition of five costumed tour guides from Basic High School's Key Club. The Ghost Town Tours start at 5 p.m., with the last one at 8 p.m. Attractions are 50 cents each.
Old-fashioned games, updated but still offering traditional fun, will be available for 25 cents each. Costume contests are free and offered every 45 minutes. The Ghost Locomotive is free. Books of tickets at $1 are available at the event and can be used for games and attractions.
