‘Classic country’ radio station debuts

A new radio station broadcasting a "country legends" format went on the air Monday.

Owned by Beasley Broadcast Group, KBET-AM 790 plays classic country music from the 1960s through the 1980s, including artists Kenny Rogers, Conway Twitty, Patsy Cline and Alabama.

Beasley Broadcast Group also owns local stations KDWN-AM 720, KKLZ-FM 96.3, KCYE-FM 104.3 and KSTJ-FM 102.7.
