Community garden thrives in West Las Vegas

A group of volunteers, spearheaded by Rosalind Brooks, 42, has started to bloom on five acres of donated land at the Tonopah Community Garden, 711. N. Tonopah Dr. near Bonanza Road and Rancho Drive. The garden continues its growth in the hot summer season with help from the Summer Business Institute of Nevada.  Brooks hopes to bring the community together and produce plenty of nutritious, pesticide-free food in the West Las Vegas neighborhood that gone for years without a grocery store.
