Contest rewards smart watering

Southern Nevadans can celebrate the arrival of spring by entering their water-efficient landscape in the Southern Nevada Water Authority's 2007 Landscape Awards.

Applications are available at snwa.com or by calling the Conservation Helpline at 258-7283.

To enter, submit an application with four to six digital or print color photos highlighting the landscape design and water-efficient features. Entries can be submitted online or by mail. Applications are due no later than 5 p.m. May 9.

The Landscape Awards recognize residential and professional water-smart landscapes that are functional and attractive. Winners will be announced in June.

All projects must be located within the SNWA's service area of Boulder City, Henderson, Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Laughlin and unincorporated Clark County.

The SNWA is a regional agency that manages water conservation, water quality and water resources. Member agencies are: Big Bend Water District (Laughlin), the cities of Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson and Boulder City, the Clark County Water Reclamation District and the Las Vegas Valley Water District.
