New institute at Nathan Adelson Hospice offers ‘Living with Grief’ seminar

Nathan Adelson Hospice is offering continuing education courses related to palliative and hospice care under a program it is calling The Learning Institute. The program will provide educational programs, many approved for continuing education for nurses and social workers.

"We created The Learning Institute to improve the quality of palliative and hospice care by increasing the knowledge, skills and comfort level of clinicians, caregivers and volunteers who provide this care in our community" Nathan Adelson Hospice President and Chief Executive Officer Carole Fisher said. "Our well-rounded courses and workshops will encompass a vast array of subjects important in this area."

The Learning Institute offers webinars, online courses, customized training programs, a speaker's bureau and conferences and seminars. The Learning Institute website also provides a free caregiver education category.

Its first continuing education all-day seminar, "Living with Grief," from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 14 at United Healthcare, 2716 N. Tenaya Way. The topic will be "Beyond Kübler-Ross: New Perspectives on Death, Dying, and Grief." Registration deadline is March 7.
