Master gardeners to ‘paint with color’ during tour
Clark County master gardeners will offer a tour of the Demonstration Gardens, emphasizing how to Paint Your Garden With Color, at 10 a.m. April 13. The tour is free and open to the public.
The gardens are at the Lifelong Learning Center, 8050 Paradise Road. To join the tour, meet in the courtyard; participants are encouraged to wear walking shoes and hats, and to bring water.
Desert Plants Come Alive will be the topic of a tour May 11. It will focus on desert-adapted plants that can be successfully grown in a home’s landscape.
The Demonstration Gardens contain more than 500 species of desert-appropriate landscape plants, including trees, shrubs, perennials, palms, cactuses and agaves. Plants are identified by botanical and common names. The grounds are open for self-guided walks from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.
Groups of five or more people are requested to call Ann Edmunds, program coordinator, at 702-257-5587 at least two weeks in advance. For more information, email the master gardener help desk at lvmastergardeners@unce.
