Introduction to fly-fishing course to be July 22-23
The Nevada Department of Wildlife will host a free introduction to fly-fishing class. This two-part class will begin at 6 p.m. July 22 with a classroom session at the department's Las Vegas office, 4747 W. Vegas Drive. The second portion of the class will be the morning of July 23 at a park nearby the office.
During the classroom portion of the course, students will learn fly-fishing terminology, how to tie basic knots and how to select necessary equipment. The second session will include hands-on instruction in casting technique.
The class is for people ages 12 and older. Loaner equipment will be available. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. Monday. For more information, contact Ivy Santee at (702) 486-5127, extension 3503.
