Kwanzaa event features play

All ages are welcome to celebrate the fourth day of Kwanzaa on Dec. 29, at the West Las Vegas Library Theatre, 951 W. Lake Mead Blvd.

The program, which is dedicated to community elder Zak Mokae, begins at 2 p.m. with the production of "Loving the Lonely," a Kwanzaa tale written by Keith Antar Mason and directed by Ellis Rice.

Following the play will be a traditional celebration to honor "Ujamaa -- Cooperative Economics," the fourth principle of Kwanzaa's Nguzo Saba that refers to the establishment and maintenance of businesses. A variety of dancers, drummers and spoken-word artists will perform.
