Muzzleloading rifle course scheduled for next month

The Nevada Department of Wildlife will host an introductory muzzleloading class from 7 to 10 p.m. on Nov. 9 at the Clark County Shooting Range Education Center.

The class will include a brief lecture on the various types of muzzleloading rifles and their safety features.

Techniques for loading and shooting will be practiced after the lecture.

Participants will have the opportunity to load and shoot a flintlock, percussion cap and modern day, in-line rifle.

The class also will include instruction on the proper cleaning and storage of muzzleloading firearms.

There is no charge for the class, but seating is limited and reservations are required. For more information or to register, call Martin Olson at (702) 486-5127, extension 3501.
