HIKES

Red Rock Canyon: On Monday, a moderate, four- to five-mile hike at La Madre Springs. On Tuesday, a four- to five-mile hike with some scrambling at Red Cap. On Wednesday, a moderate, three-mile hike at Pine Creek Canon (515-5367).

Around the Bend Friends: This group of people over 50, interested in hiking and related social activities, plans a three- to four-hour moderate hike each Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. To learn more about the group and the meeting place for the hike, contact 228-0773, or the club's Web site: www.aroundthebendfriends.com.

OTHER PROGRAMS

Red Rock Canyon: On Friday, a display of animals at the visitor center from 10 a.m. to noon. Also Friday, a program for 4-10 year olds about the birds of Red Rock Canyon. On Saturday, a program for 2-10 year olds about cactuses. Children will participate in a scavenger hunt (515-5367).

Archaeo-Nevada Society along with the Bureau of Land Management invites volunteers to help with Red Rock Conservation projects. Visit www.archaeonevada.org.
