HIKES

Red Rock Canyon: On Monday, a moderate three-and-a-half mile hike around Ice Box Canyon. On Tuesday, a strenuous six-mile hike with a 1,500-foot elevation gain at Gray Cap Peak. On Wednesday, a moderate three-and-a-half mile hike to La Madre Spring. On Friday, a three-mile moderate hike at Keystone Space with some scrambling (515-5367).

Around the Bend Friends: This group of people over 50, interested in hiking and related social activities, plans a three- to four-hour moderate hike each Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. To learn more about the group and the meeting place for the hike, contact 228-0773, or the club's Web site: www.aroundthebendfriends.com

OTHER PROGRAMS

Red Rock Canyon: On Tusday, a 20-minute talk on reptiles of Red Rock Canyon. The program will be ongiong from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the visitor cnter. On Friday, a program for 2-6 year olds about the desert kit fox. There will be an activity (515-5367).
