HIKES

Red Rock: On Monday, moderate 5-mile hike to a slot canyon. Thursday, there will be a moderate 2.5-mile hike to explore the forces of erosion. Friday, there will be a 3-mile hike up 950 feet for a walk through an aspen forest to the top of Cathedral Rock. On Saturday, there will be an early morning 3-mile hike moderate hike with some rock scrambling through Echo Canyon and up to Fossil Ridge. We will look for evidence of ancient sea life throughout the hike and take in the incredible views of the various mountain ranges. On Saturday, there will be a moderate, 4-mile hike to Pine Creek (515-5367).

Around the Bend Friends: This group of people over 50, interested in hiking and related social activities, plans a three- to four-hour moderate hike each Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. To learn more about the group and the meeting place for the hike, contact 228-0773, or the club's Web site: www. aroundthebendfriends.com

BIKES

Red Rock Canyon: There will be an introductory mountain bike ride June 21 starting from the late night parking lot. The 6-mile single-track is a beginner to intermediate ride. Helmets are required (515-5367).

OTHER PROGRAMS

Red Rock Canyon: Friday, there will be a program for 2-6 year olds about lizards in the Mojave Desert. Children will learn facts and make a craft. Saturday, children 5 and up will create masterpieces of Red Rock in an art class. No experience necessary and all supplies are included.
