Red Rock Canyon, Mummy's Toe: A very strenuous eight-mile hike over challenging terrain on the double scramble route Monday (515-5367).

Spring Mountain Ranch State Park, Full Moon: Meet at the tour gate Tuesday at 6:45 p.m. for a two-hour hike with some bouldering at Sandstone Canyon. Arrive early, as the park gates close when the hike starts. No dogs or children under 12 years old allowed (875-4141).

Red Rock Canyon, Muffins Moon Rise: A moderate three-mile hike, with an 850-foot gain, Friday along Blue Diamond Knoll to watch the full moon rise (515-5367).

Red Rock Canyon, Mountain Spring Peak: Friday, hike the back country behind the escarpment for views of Cottonwood Canyon on this strenuous seven-mile loop hike with a 1,400-foot gain (515-5367).

Around the Bend Friends: This group of people, 50 years and over, interested in hiking and related social activities will meet at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Santa Fe Casino, 4949 N. Rancho Drive, South Parking Garage, on the left of Level 3, for a moderate three-hour hike at Mount Charleston (642-2285).

Sierra Club: Join the Southern Nevada Group Saturday for a moderate to strenuous three-mile round trip hike with an 800-foot gain up Red Cap in the Calico Hills. Bring water, hat and sunscreen. Contact: George McDonald at 808-3855.
