Red Rock Canyon, Harris Peak: Strenuous five-mile, partial off-trail route, hike Friday with an 1,800-foot gain. (515-5367).
Spring Mountain Ranch State Park, New Moon: Meet at the tour gate Friday at 7:45 p.m. for a two-hour hike with some bouldering at Sandstone Canyon. Arrive 15 minutes early, as the park gates close when the hike starts. No dogs or children under 12 years old allowed (875-4141).

Red Rock Canyon, Mummy's Nose: Saturday, a strenuous seven-mile, approximately six-hour hike (515-5367).
Around the Bend Friends: This group of people, 50 years and over, interested in hiking and related social activities will meet at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Santa Fe Casino, 4949 N. Rancho Drive, South Parking Garage, on the left of Level 3, for a moderate three-hour hike at Mount Charleston (642-2285).
