HIKES

Red Rock Canyon: On Monday, learn about geology and wildlife on a moderate, 2½-mile hike to the Lost Creek waterfall and Ice Box Canyon; for ages 10 and older. On Wednesday, learn about the medicinal uses of plants found along the Moenkopi trail on an easy, two-mile hike. On April 15, look for wildflowers and birds around some of Red Rock Canyon's springs on an easy, three-mile hike for ages 6 and older. Also on April 15, go for an easy, one-mile Discovery Trail hike.

Around the Bend Friends: This group of people 50 and older who are involved in hiking and related social activities plans several hikes each week of various difficulty levels, including an easy-to-moderate social hike on Saturdays. OTHER PROGRAMS

Red Rock Canyon: On Tuesday, create a masterpiece in an art class for ages 15 and older. Also on Tuesday, view types of arachnids, reptiles, birds and mammals found in Red Rock in a tabletop presentation from 11 a.m. to noon at the visitor center. On Friday, help clean up a trail. On Saturday, come out for Red Rock Day from 8 a.m. to noon. Volunteer projects will include boardwalk repairs, planting new vegetation, a weed team, and trash pickup.
