HIKES

Red Rock Canyon: On Tuesday, an easy, 2-mile hike along the Moenkopi. On Wednesday, a moderate, 4-mile night hike at Red Springs. On Saturday, a moderate, 3- to 4-mile hike at Pine Breek trail. On May 8, a 6-mile hike at White Rock Loop (515-5367).

Around The Bend Friends: This group of people over 50, interested in hiking and related social activities, plans a three-to four-hour moderate hike each Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. To learn more about the group and the meeting place for the hike, contact 228-0773, or the club's website: www.aroundthebendfriends.com.

OTHER PROGRAMS

Red Rock Canyon: On Monday, a table-top presentation in the visitors center on desert animals. On Tuesday and Thursday, a table-top presentation at the visitors center on plants and animals of the Mojave Desert. On Friday, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. in the visitors center, a presentation on animals in the conservation area. On May 8, a table-top presentation in the visitors center on how plants pollinate (515-5367).

Archaeo-Nevada Society along with the Bureau of Land Management invites volunteers to help with Red Rock Conservation projects. Visit www.archaeonevada.org.
