HIKES

Red Rock Canyon: On Monday, a moderately easy 4-mile hike to the Keystone Thrust fault. On Tuesday, a moderate hike at the Muffins in Fossil Ridge. Also Tuesday, an 11-mile loop hike with an elevation gain of 90 feet at the Grand Circle (515-5367).

Around the Bend Friends: This group of people over 50, interested in hiking and related social activities, plans a three-to four-hour moderate hike each Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. To learn more about the group and the meeting place for the hike, contact 228-0773, or the club's website: www.aroundthebendfriends.com.

OTHER PROGRAMS

Red Rock Canyon: On Dec. 26, an ongoing program from 10 a.m. to noon at the visitor center on the diversity of animals at Red Rock Canyon (515-5367).

Archaeo-Nevada Society along with the Bureau of Land Management invites volunteers to help with Red Rock Conservation projects. Visit www.archaeonevada.org.
