Red Rock Canyon: On Tuesday, a moderate 4-mile hike to Mary Jane Falls in Mount Charleston. On Thursday, an easy 2¼-mile hike along the Moenkopi Trail (515-5367).

Around the Bend Friends: This group of people over 50, interested in hiking and related social activities, plans a three-to four-hour moderate hike each Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. To learn more about the group and the meeting place for the hike, contact 228-0773, or the club's website: www.aroundthebendfriends.com.

Red Rock Canyon: On Tuesday, week seven of Camp Red Rock, which will feature a close-up look at the desert tortoise for those ages 3-10. On Wednesday, an ongoing program from 9:30-11 a.m. in the visitor center about the desert tortoise. On Friday, a program for 3-10 year olds on the insects in Red Rock Canyon. On Saturday, a program for 2-10 year olds on the desert tortoise (515-5367).
