HIKES

Red Rock Canyon: On Monday, a moderately strenuous, 6½-mile hike to Mummy Springs. On Friday, an early morning hike around the Moenkopi Loop Trail. Also on Friday, a moderate, 3½-mile hike on the North Loop Trail.

Around The Bend Friends: This group of people over 50, interested in hiking and related social activities, plans a three- to four-hour moderate hike each Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. To learn more about the group and the meeting place for the hike, contact 228-0773, or the club's website: www.aroundthebendfriends.com.

OTHER PROGRAMS

Red Rock Canyon: On Tuesday, a "no pressure" art class for ages 15 and up. Also on Tuesday, Camp Red Rock for ages 3 to 10. On Friday, an interactive program about coyotes for ages 2 to 6. On Saturday, the Las Vegas Astronomical Society will have member telescopes to view the night sky from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the visitor center. Also on Saturday, a program about Red Rock's animals from 10 a.m. to noon at the visitor center.

Archaeo-Nevada Society, along with the Bureau of Land Management, invites volunteers to help with Red Rock Conservation projects. Visit www.archaeonevada.org.
