HIKES

Red Rock Canyon: On Monday, a 4-mile, moderately strenuous hike on the Wild Horse and Burro Trail. On Friday, a moderate, 4-mile hike with a 430-foot elevation gain into Fletcher Canyon (515-5365).

Around the Bend Friends: This group of people over 50, interested in hiking and related social activities, plans a three-to four-hour moderate hike each Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. To learn more about the group and the meeting place for the hike, contact 228-0773, or the club's website: www.aroundthebendfriends.com.

OTHER PROGRAMS

Red Rock Canyon: On Tuesday, Camp Red Rock for ages 3-10 to take a look at the mammals of Red Rock. On Friday, a program for 2-10 year olds about the flowers of Red Rock Canyon. On Saturday, a program for 2-10 year olds to explore animal movements and rhythms (515-5365).

Archaeo-Nevada Society along with the Bureau of Land Management invites volunteers to help with Red Rock Conservation projects. Visit www.archaeonevada.org.
