HIKES
Red Rock Canyon: On Monday, a 4- to 5-mile moderate hike at La Madre Springs. Also Monday, a moderate, 3-mile moonlight hike at La Madre Springs. Bring a flashlight. On Tuesday, bring your dog for an easy, 3-mile hike at First Creek trail. On Thursday, an easy, 1½-mile morning hike. On Friday, a moderate, 3-mile hike at Pine Creek Canyon. On Saturday, an easy, ½-mile hike at Corn Creekk. Also Saturday, an easy ½-mile hike in the evening at Red Spring. On Sunday, a strenuous, 6-mile hike with some scrambling and bouldering at Mescalito Falls (515-5367).
Around the Bend Friends: This group of people over 50, interested in hiking and related social activities, plans a three- to four-hour moderate hike each Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. To learn more about the group and the meeting place for the hike, contact 228-0773, or the club's website: www.aroundthebendfriends.com

Red Rock Canyon: On Wednesday, a 20-minute program about the flowers of Red Rock, ongoing from 1-3 p.m. On Friday, a program for 2-6 year olds about butterflies. Also Friday, a canyon clean-up is scheduled. On Saturday, a program for 2-10 year olds about flowers in the Mojave Desert (515-5367).
