Out There: Hiking opportunities abound
HIKES
Red Rock Canyon: On Monday, join a geologist for a moderately strenuous, three-mile hike along Dale’s Trail; for ages 10 and older. On Tuesday, learn about nocturnal animals on a moderate, three-mile night hike; for ages 12 and older. Bring a flashlight. On April 7, view wildflowers on an easy, three-mile hike to some of Red Rock’s springs; for ages 10 and older.

Around the Bend Friends: This group of people 50 and older who are involved in hiking and related social activities plans several hikes each week of various difficulty levels, including an easy-to-moderate social hike on Saturdays. OTHER PROGRAMS
Red Rock Canyon: On Monday, take an interpretive mini-tour of the Red Rock visitor center and outdoor exhibits. Also on Monday, get a close-up look at some of the birds of Red Rock during a tabletop exhibit inside the visitor center. On Tuesday, view some of the venomous animals found in Red Rock during a presentation at the visitor center. On Wednesday, create a beaded necklace, bracelet or earrings in a jewelry-making workshop for ages 12 and older. On Friday, join other volunteers to help keep Red Rock clean.
