HIKES
Red Rock Canyon: On Monday, join a geologist and a naturalist to look for fossils and identify the plants and animals encountered on a moderate, 2½-mile hike; for ages 10 and older. Also on Monday, bring a flashlight and learn about the constellations on a moderate, three-mile night hike at Fossil Ridge; for ages 12 and older. On Friday, learn the traditional uses of a variety of plants found along the Moenkopi Trail on a moderate, two-mile hike.

Around the Bend Friends: This group of people 50 and older who are involved in hiking and related social activities plans several hikes each week of various difficulty levels, including an easy-to-moderate social hike on Saturdays. OTHER PROGRAMS
Red Rock Canyon: On Tuesday, view some of the arachnids, reptiles, birds and mammals found at Red Rock in a tabletop presentation from 11 a.m. to noon at the visitor center. On Wednesday, create your own beaded necklace, bracelet or earrings in a jewelry-making workshop for ages 12 and older. On Friday, join a volunteer effort to help keep Red Rock clean. On Saturday, learn about the diversity of Red Rock’s wildflowers and how to identify them.
