HIKES

Red Rock Canyon: At 9 a.m. Monday, join a geologist and a naturalist to discuss the geological features, plants and animals encountered on a moderately strenuous, three-mile hike to Badger Pass; for ages 10 and older. At 4:30 p.m. Monday, learn about the constellations on a moderate, three-mile hike at Pine Creek; for ages 10 and older. At 9 a.m. Wednesday, come along on a moderate, 3.3-mile hike to the First Creek grotto that will include a 30-minute break to make a watercolor painting for your valentine; for ages 12 and older.

Desert National Wildlife Refuge: At 9 a.m. Saturday, enjoy an easy, half-mile walk at Corn Creek Spring.

Around the Bend Friends: This group of people 50 and older who are involved in hiking and related social activities plans several hikes each week of various difficulty levels, including an easy-to-moderate social hike on Saturdays. OTHER PROGRAMS

Red Rock Canyon: At 11 a.m. Tuesday, view some of the arachnids, reptiles, birds and mammals found at Red Rock in a tabletop presentation at the visitor center. At noon Tuesday, create a masterpiece in an art class for ages 15 and older. At 9 a.m. Wednesday, make a beaded necklace, bracelet or earrings in a jewelry workshop for ages 12 and older.
