Outdoor activities around Southern Nevada
Red Rock Canyon: On Monday, explore the plant life of Pine Creek Canyon on a moderate-to-strenuous, 5-mile hike; for ages 12 and older. On Wednesday, climb to the Calico Tank tinaja on a moderate, 2½-mile hike that includes rock scrambling; for ages 15 and older.

Around the Bend Friends: This group of people 50 and older who are involved in hiking and related social activities plans several hikes each week of various difficulty levels, including an easy-to-moderate social hike on Saturdays. Red Rock Canyon: On Tuesday, create a masterpiece in an art class for ages 15 and older. On Friday, help clean up a trail. On Saturday, learn about butterflies at the visitor center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
