HIKES
Red Rock Canyon: On Monday, search for the elusive gila monster on an easy, 1- to 2-mile hike in Ash Springs for ages 12 and older. Also on Monday, bring a flashlight for a moderate, 3-mile night hike at Red Spring for ages 12 and older. On June 10, come along on the easy, 1-mile Discovery Trail hike. Also on June 10, observe wildflowers and animals around some of Red Rock's springs on an easy, 3-mile hike for ages 6 and older.
Desert National Wildlife Refuge: On Saturday, look for animals on an easy, half-mile walk to Corn Creek Spring.

Around the Bend Friends: This group of people 50 and older who are involved in hiking and related social activities plans several hikes each week of various difficulty levels, including an easy-to-moderate social hike on Saturdays. OTHER PROGRAMS
Red Rock Canyon: On Tuesday, view types of arachnids, reptiles, birds and mammals found in Red Rock in a tabletop presentation from 11 a.m. to noon at the visitor center. On Friday, help clean up trash along a trail.
Archaeo-Nevada Society, along with the Bureau of Land Management, seeks volunteers to help with Red Rock Canyon conservation projects. Visit www.archaeonevada.org.
