HIKES
Red Rock Canyon: On Monday, learn about geology and nature on a moderate, three-mile hike in Oak Creek Canyon to the base of Potato Knoll; for ages 12 and older. Also on Monday, bring a flashlight along and learn about the constellations and the moon on a moderate, three-mile night hike along Fossil Ridge; for ages 12 and older. On Feb. 26, view rocks and fossils formed during the Permian period on an easy-to-moderate, three-mile hike to Fossil Ridge; for ages 6 and older. Also on Feb. 26, enjoy an easy, informative one-mile Discovery Trail hike; suitable for all ages.

Valley of Fire: 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. today, see petroglyphs on an easy, three-quarter mile guided hike to Mouse's Tank. Meet at the Mouse's Tank trail head. 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, see a slot canyon and the remnants of an old movie set on the 1¼-mile White Domes hike. Meet at the White Domes trail head.

Around the Bend Friends: This group of people 50 and older who are involved in hiking and related social activities plans several hikes each week of various difficulty levels, including an easy-to-moderate social hike on Saturdays.
