NDOW plans to host two-day introductory fly-fishing course

The Nevada Department of Wildlife will host a free introduction to fly-fishing class Aug. 26 and 27.

The two-part class includes a classroom portion in which participants will learn terminology, how to tie basic knots and about equipment selection. This portion of the class will begin at 6 p.m. on Aug. 26 at the department's office at 4747 W. Vegas Drive.

During the second part of the class, participants will receive hands-on training in casting techniques. This session will take place at a park near the office and will begin at 9 a.m. on Aug. 27.

Each portion of the class will last about two hours and is recommended for people 12 and older.
