Positively Kids celebrates 10 years with anniversary dinner
The Foundation for Positively Kids, an organization that assists medically fragile children, hosted its 10-year anniversary dinner Sept. 9 at the Four Seasons.
Positively Kids' founder and chief executive officer Fred Schultz spoke about the event's funds going toward building a 72-bed children's health facility in Henderson, the only one of its kind in Clark County.
Among the 400 guests were Henderson Mayor Andy Hafen, Henderson Councilwoman Gerri Schroder, Nevada first lady Dawn Gibbons, Family Court Judge Dianne Steel and North Las Vegas Mayor Shari L. Buck. Also attending were North Las Vegas Council members William Robinson, Anita Wood and Richard Cherchio, and Nevada Assembly members Marilyn Kirkpatrick, Lynn Stewart, Mo Denis and Ruben Kiheum. Mistress of ceremonies was radio personality Stephanie Mackenzie.
Honored was U.S. Rep. Shelley Berkley.
A silent and live auction, dinner and entertainment by comedian Anthony Russell and extreme artist Jean Francois was enjoyed by board members and guests, including Romie and Larry Semenza, Sue Lopez, Diane and David Gremse, Shelley and John Rhodes, Mieko and Scott Mattox, Brittney and Alan Sandler, Jennifer Bradley, Katie and Sean Fellows, Susan Dons, Catherine Lu, Rene McClymont, Marcie Zayas, Andrea Woods and Bea Goodwin.
History honors hope: A gala reception and dinner benefiting the Autism Coalition of Nevada honored Nevada's living governors at Trump International Hotel & Tower on Sept. 10.
The event celebrated the 100th anniversary of the governor's mansion with the unveiling of the official governor's mansion commemorative painting by artist Steven Saylor. Nevada's first lady Dawn Gibbons, and Autism Coalition founder Ralph Toddre greeted former governors Bob List, Richard Bryan and Bob Miller.
Master of ceremonies Larry Hart, assisted by Sandy Peltyn, presented entertainment by E.W. Clark Chamber Orchestra, the Metropolitan Club Orchestra, comedian Jimmy Shubert, Broadway and movie actress Linda Hart and entertainers Bill Fayne, Clint Holmes and Kelly Clinton.
A silent and live auction followed the gourmet dinner for Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto, Judge Nancy Oesterle and Assembly members Valerie Weber and James Ohrenschall. Other guests included Jeni Crandy, Toni Hart, Eleanore and Edward Doumani, Terri Janison, Annee Nounna, Garry Hart, Megan Miller and Will Harrison, Lia Roberts and Steve Fleming, Susan Houston, Rosita Kanes, Isabel Pfeifer, Jack Harpster, Merle Jensen, Gloria White, Orlando Carkido, Cindi Doumani, Jim Hooban, Phyllis Schwartz, Don Larson, Mona Orr and R.J.
