Praise dance workshop scheduled

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Arts & Community Events Division of the city of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services is offering a praise dance and sign arts workshop for speople ages 10 to 21.

Facilitated by Victoria Gordon and Jocelyn Wilson from Victory Missionary Baptist Church's movement and sign ministries, the workshop will be held Jan. 5 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the West Las Vegas Arts Center, 947 W. Lake Mead Blvd.

Participants are encouraged to dress in dance attire or wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Registration is now open for a fee of $5. Call 229-4800 for more information.

The arts center hosts numerous programs for all ages, from classes for children and adults to special events.
