MUSIC

Mountain View Presbyterian Church, 8601 Del Webb Blvd., will host a concert featuring flutist Alexander Viazovtsev at 3 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free, but freewill donations will be accepted (341-7800).

The Mama Doni Band will perform at 11 a.m. March 24 at Temple Beth Sholom, 10700 Havenwood Lane. Passover-themed stories and crafts will follow the concert. Tickets are $10 for adults, and $8 for children (794-0090).

SERVICES

First Henderson United Methodist Church, 609 E. Horizon Drive, Henderson, will offer the following Holy Week services: Palm Sunday service at 8 and 11 a.m. March 24; Holy Thursday service at 7 p.m. March 28; and Good Friday service at 7 p.m. March 29. On March 31, a 6 a.m. Easter Sunday service will be held in the parking lot followed by a continental breakfast. Other services will include a Celebration and Praise service at 8 a.m. and traditional service at 11 a.m. March 31 (568-6409).

First Presbyterian Church of Las Vegas, 1515 W. Charleston Blvd., will offer the following Holy Week services: Palm Sunday services at 8:30 and 11 a.m. March 24; Good Friday service at 7 p.m. March 29; and Easter Sunday services at 8:30 and 11 a.m. March 31 (384-4554).

Palm Eastern Mortuary and Cemetery, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., will host its 28th annual Easter Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m. March 31. The service will feature an inspirational message by the Rev. Leo Wood, a ceremonial release of doves, live music and entertainment, a complimentary continental breakfast and an appearance by the Easter Bunny (464-8500).

Redrock Baptist Church, 5500 Alta Drive, will offer an Easter Sunrise service at 6 a.m. March 31 followed by a community breakfast. The church will also offer an 11 a.m. service, followed by its annual Easter egg hunt (870-9198).

South Hills Church Community, 9220 Manhattan Road, Henderson, will offer a Good Friday service at 6 p.m. March 29, an Easter Saturday service at 5:30 p.m. March 30 and Easter services at 6, 8:30, 10 and 11:30 a.m. March 31 (616-6700).

Summerlin Lutheran Church, 1911 Pueblo Vista Drive, will have a Good Friday service at 7 p.m. March 29 and Easter services at 8 and 10:30 a.m. March 31 (254-8431).

Summerlin Presbyterian Church, 4590 S. Hualapai Way, will offer the following Holy Week services: Palm Sunday service at 10:30 a.m. March 24; Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m. March 28; and Easter Sunday service at 10:30 a.m. March 31 (243-0780).

EVENTS

Desert Spring Theatre Arts will present the musical “Bye, Bye Birdie” at 3 and 7 p.m. today at Desert Spring United Methodist Church, 120 N. Pavilion Center Drive. Tickets are $7.50 (290-1173).

First Presbyterian Church of Las Vegas, 1515 W. Charleston Blvd., will have its Presbyterian Women’s annual rummage sale from 8 a.m. to noon today (384-4554).

St. Joseph Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave., will host its 21st annual St. Joseph Table in the community center at 9 a.m. Sunday. The table will feature baked goods with proceeds going to feed the poor, hungry and homeless. A Lenten Pasta will be served from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The cost is $7 for adults and ages 6 and younger eat free (838-9879).

South Hills Church Community, 9220 Manhattan Road, Henderson, will have its annual Easter Extravaganza for children from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 23. The event will feature an egg hunt, games, jump houses, snow cones and the Resurrection Story. Admission is free (616-6700).

Nevada Desert Experience will have its annual Sacred Peace Walk from March 23 to 29. The 65-mile pilgrimage to the Nevada National Security Site will begin with an orientation at 2 p.m. March 23 at 1420 W. Bartlett Ave. The walk will begin March 24 and end March 29. Congregation P’nai Tivah will host a Passover Seder at 6 p.m. March 26 at the Blasco Event Room of the UNLV Foundation Building on the southwest corner of Maryland Parkway and Cottage Grove Avenue. The Seder will be led by Rabbi Yocheved Mintz and dinner will be catered by members of the synagogue. For nonmembers, tickets are $50 for adults and $25 for children.
