SENIOR ACTIVITIES
ADULT DAY CARE CENTER OF LAS VEGAS
Adult Day Care Center of Las Vegas Lied/Sinai Campus, 901 N. Jones Blvd., is open 6:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays (648-3425). The center is operated by Temple Sinai and offers individualized care by a team of professionals including a nurse, social worker, activity specialist and certified nursing assistants. Activities, entertainment and recreation programs are offered, as well as snacks and lunch.
BOULDER CITY SENIOR CENTER
The Boulder City Senior Center, 813 Arizona St., is open 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays (293-3320).
The center offers continental breakfast and a weekday buffet-style lunch with a full salad bar for $2.50 as well as Meals on Wheels; transportation (7:30 a.m.-3 p.m. daily); information on Social Security, Medicare and senior law issues; live entertainment; exercise classes; yoga; and bingo and cards. It also has a Wednesday morning health fair.
CAMBEIRO SENIOR CENTER
The Arturo Cambeiro Senior Center, 330 N. 13th St., is open 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Spanish and English are spoken (384-3746).
Meals are served to people ages 60 and older at 11:30 a.m. daily for a donation of $1.50.
The center also offers classes in citizenship and conversational English, arts and crafts, exercise programs and table games.
CAMBRIDGE CENTER
Cambridge Center, 3930 Cambridge St., is open 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays (455-7169).
A meal program is offered on Fridays for $1.75. Preregistration is recommended.
Activities at the center include bingo, field trips and guest speakers.
The Clark County Health District conducts blood-pressure checkups 9:30-11:30 a.m. on the second Friday of each month.
CENTENNIAL HILLS ACTIVE ADULT CENTER
The Centennial Hills Active Adult Center, 6601 N. Buffalo Drive, is open noon-8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays (229-1702).
The center offers indoor swimming, a weight room and computer lab. Activities include Texas Hold'em Lessons, indoor shuffleboard, badminton, table tennis, Nintendo Wii, mah-jongg and pinochle.
The Alzheimer's disease and dementia support group meeting is at 6 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of the month.
A Money Management Seminar will be offered at 6 p.m. May 13. The fee is $15. Preregistration is required.
COLEMAN SENIOR CENTER
The Cora Coleman Senior Center, 2100 Bonnie Lane, is open 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays (455-7617).
Classes offered include arts and crafts, computers, defensive driving, exercise and dance, and special-interest courses. Other activities include swimming, card tournaments, pinochle, health screenings, guest speakers and holiday celebrations. Field trips to various areas of interest and attractions in Southern Nevada are scheduled throughout the year.
DERFELT SENIOR CENTER
The Derfelt Senior Center, 3343 W. Washington Ave. in Lorenzi Park, is open 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays (229-6601).
Activities include arts and crafts, exercise and dance classes and day trips.
Solitaires, a women's single group, will meet at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
A park ambassadors meeting will be at 10 a.m. Thursday.
The Amputee Coalition of Nevada will meet at 1 p.m. Friday.
The AARP Safe Driving Program will be offered 8 a.m.-4 p.m. May 12. Preregistration is required by calling 257-9555. The fee is $10.
DOOLITTLE SENIOR CENTER
Doolittle Senior Center programs operate 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. The senior center is closed for renovations. Senior activities are based out of the Doolittle Community Center, 1950 N. J St. (229-6125).
A free Cell Phones 411 workshop will be offered at 10 a.m. Monday.
The Senior Law Project will offer a free coffee talk at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Advance registration is required.
EAST LAS VEGAS COMMUNITY AND SENIOR CENTER
East Las Vegas Community/Senior Center, 250 N. Eastern Ave., is open 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays (229-1515).
The center offers a variety of dance, art, music and fitness classes, a computer lab, a pottery studio, and weaving looms and lessons.
A free cell phone workshop will be offered at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
A healthy cooking workshop will be offered at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. The fee is $2.
A day of pampering for women with a massage and information on style and makeup will be offered at 9 a.m. Thursday. The fee is $5 and includes light refreshments. Preregistration is required.
A geocaching workshop will be offered at 10 a.m. Thursday.
A free seasonal crafts workshop will be offered at 9 a.m. May 13. Advance registration is required.

FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE
Friendship Circle, 830 E. Lake Mead Parkway, Henderson, is operated by The Salvation Army. Hours are 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays (565-8836).
Services include the Star Program for physically and mentally disabled adults, meals, nursing, and mental and physical exercise. Low-income assistance and Medicaid are available.
GOLDBERG SENIOR CENTER
The Alice and Harry L. Goldberg Senior Center, 2309 Renaissance Drive, Suite B, is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Friday (933-1191).
The center offers social service assistance through Las Vegas Senior Lifeline, a program of the Jewish Federation of Las Vegas. Assistance also is available in transportation, nutrition, homemaking, medical care and home improvements.
The center has nondenominational services for people age 60 and older.
HENDERSON SENIOR CENTER
Henderson Senior Center, 27 E. Texas Ave., is open 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Fridays, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Sundays (267-4150).
Lunch is served 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Mondays through Fridays for a suggested donation of $1.50 for 60 years or older, and $3 for all others. Meals also are delivered (565-4626). Breakfast is offered 9-11 a.m. Saturdays, and lunch is served at noon Sunday for a suggested donation of $1.50 for each.
Classes and activities offered include arts and crafts, billiards, bingo, knitting and crocheting, exercise classes, computer classes, writing workshops, bus trips, line dancing and card games.
Services include health screenings, and assistance with medical forms, housing, transportation, utilities, Social Security and legal issues.
Several groups meet at the center each month, including the DAV, Vision Support Group, Military Order of the Purple Heart chapter 730 and the Social Seniors Club.
LAS VEGAS SENIOR CITIZENS CENTER
Las Vegas Senior Citizens Center, 451 E. Bonanza Road, is open 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and 8:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturdays (229-6454).
Classes and activities include beading and knitting, painting, pinochle, exercise classes, blood-pressure checks, monthly birthday parties and living will workshops. Low-impact aerobics classes are at 9 a.m. Mondays and Fridays; the fee is $2.
Several groups meet at the center each month, including Cactus, Water & Energy Conservation Society; Senior Tripsters; Southern Nevada Gem & Mineral Society; and the Porcelain Art Guild.
The Nevada Humanities Committee and Discussion Group meets 10-11:30 a.m. Thursdays.
The center is hosting weekly ballroom socials featuring the Boyd Coulter Good Times Band 6:30-9:30 p.m. Saturdays. The cost is $4.
The center also offers several dance classes. The cost is $5 for the ballroom and swing dance classes, all other classes are $3.
A Cinco de Mayo taquitos special will be offered 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday. The fee is 50 cents for two taquitos.
Karaoke Cabaret will be offered at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Advance registration is required. The fee is $1 and includes light refreshments.
A Texas Hold'em Tournament will be offered 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday. The fee is $2.
A Kite Day workshop and kite flying will be offered 11 a.m.-1 p.m. May 12. The event is free. Optional kite kit may be purchased for $1.
LIEBURN SENIOR CENTER
Howard Lieburn Senior Center, 6230 Garwood Ave., is open 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays (229-1600).
The center offers aerobics, games, computer classes, yoga, guitar lessons and exercise classes, among other activities and services.
"What is that Ringing in My Ears," a free lecture and hearing screenings, will be offered at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
A Mother's Day Brunch will be offered at 11 a.m. Friday. The fee is $3. Reservations are required by Wednesday.
NORTH LAS VEGAS RECREATION CENTER
North Las Vegas Recreation Center, 1638 Bruce St., offers activities for senior citizens 8 a.m.-noon Mondays through Fridays (633-1492 or 633-1600).
Classes and activities include gym walking, tai chi, sittercize, beginning computer sessions, ceramics, arts and crafts, bridge, dances, seminars and meal service. Monthly trips also are organized.
NORTHWEST SENIOR CENTER
Northwest Senior Center, 6841 W. Lone Mountain Road, is open 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Fridays (229-4794).
Activities range from tighten, stretch and tone classes to writing for pleasure.
A Red Hat Society chapter meets the third Monday of the month; reservations are recommended.
Ballroom dance classes are offered at noon Tuesdays. The fee is $5.
Soup luncheons are offered at 12:30 p.m. Fridays. The fee is $2.
A free Senior Singles Social will be offered at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
A medical seminar on foot and ankle concerns will be offered at 11:45 a.m. Thursday. Advance reservations are required. A light lunch will be provided.
